Manufacturing Company |
Challenge:
The management team was unable to manage the business because information was
not readily available. The factory planning was inefficient and asynchronous to
customer orders. The information systems were no longer able to support the
business objectives. The software, tools, procedures, and organization could not
quickly and cost effectively manage orders.
Action:
First the "As Is" processes and procedures of the company were identified. This
simple procedure brought what was available, working, and deficient to
everyone's attention. Next management and line staff within the company and a
sampling of customers were involved in defining the "To Be" desired processes
and procedures. Finally, changes to the organization, procedures, and processes
were identified and implemented. Each employee in the company went through a
training program to introduce them to the changes and train them on the use of
the new tools and procedures.
Results:
The newly defined procedures were implemented organizationally and supported
with new database and software tools that enabled the client to manage its
business and scale into the future. Customer satisfaction was measurably
increased and costs were lowered, bringing both top-line and bottom-line growth.
